Kenya AA Coffee Supplier: Buy Green Arabica Beans Wholesale (AA, AB, PB)

Everything roasters and green-coffee importers need to buy Kenyan Arabica: grades, regions, harvest timing, traceability and how to get offers.

Kenya AA Coffee Supplier: Buy Green Arabica Beans Wholesale (AA, AB, PB)

Kenyan Arabica is among the most sought-after coffees in the world, famous for blackcurrant, citrus and winey acidity with a juicy, syrupy body. If you are a roaster or importer looking for a reliable Kenya AA coffee supplier, here is how the market works and how to buy.

Kenyan coffee grades explained

Kenya grades coffee by bean size and density after washing and milling:

  • AA (screen 17/18) โ€” the largest beans and flagship grade.
  • AB (screen 15/16) โ€” the largest volume; same Kenyan character, often better value.
  • PB (Peaberry) โ€” single round beans with concentrated sweetness.
  • E, C, TT, T โ€” elephant beans and smaller or lighter grades for blends.
  • MH/ML (Mbuni) โ€” natural-processed coffee for commercial blends.

Grade is about size, not cup score. That is why we send cupping notes and pre-shipment samples for every lot. See full specs, cup scores and varietals (SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, Batian) on our Kenyan coffee page.

Where the best Kenyan coffee comes from

Nyeri and Kirinyaga on the slopes of Mt Kenya produce the classic profile; Murang'a, Kiambu, Embu, Meru and Mt Elgon offer sweet, balanced lots. Coffee is processed at cooperative wet mills ("factories") and private estates, so we can trace each lot to its factory.

How to buy: auction or direct

Coffee is sold through the Nairobi Coffee Exchange and by direct contract. We buy on your behalf through either channel, from a single 60 kg bag of a micro-lot to full containers (approx. 320 bags / 19.2 MT per 20ft).

Shipping, packing and EUDR

Green coffee ships in 60 kg jute bags with GrainPro liners from Mombasa. For EU buyers we provide EUDR traceability โ€” read our EUDR guide for coffee and cocoa importers. Buyer pages: Kenyan coffee to Germany, Belgium, the USA, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

Compare East African coffee origins

Building a multi-origin menu? We also source Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Guji, Rwandan Red Bourbon, Burundian specialty lots, Ugandan Robusta and Bugisu and Kivu coffee from DR Congo โ€” compare them in our coffee category.

Frequently asked questions

What does 'Kenya AA' mean?

AA is a screen-size grade: beans retained on screens 17โ€“18 (about 6.75 mm and above). It is Kenya's largest, densest grade, not a quality score on its own โ€” cup quality is confirmed by cupping each lot.

When is the best time to buy Kenyan coffee?

The main crop is harvested Octoberโ€“December and shipped from January; the fly crop ships from July.

Is Kenyan coffee EUDR compliant?

We provide farm or factory geolocation and supply-chain data so EU importers can file EUDR due-diligence statements.
